| Konsortium Logistik Berhad, Malaysia’s largest automotive logistics provider has signed a long-term deal with Boon Software for the next generation of its leading warehouse management solution, known as the Symphony WMS-ONLINE, a component of the Symphony Logistics Suite. Konsortium having gone through several software vendors over the years acknowledged that it is paramount to select a solution that works and have an excellent track record. Konsortium is the leading logistics solutions provider in Malaysia with 22 years of logistics experience. In 2005, Konsortium completed the acquisition of haulage company, Diperdana for RM80 mil and consolidated its 49% stake in KP Asia, thus controlling 20% of logistics services in Malaysia. Konsortium’s automotive logistics segment provides 60% of all parts and components of vehicles in Malaysia via the handling of logistics of national auto manufacturers, Proton, Perodua and Naza Kia. In 2004, auto logistics accounted for 24.2% or RM42.51 mil of total group revenue. Boon Software’s Symphony Logistics Suite will support Konsortium’s auto logistics warehousing operations with its Symphony WMS-ONLINE solution, together with wireless RF barcode scanner devices which seamlessly in real-time integrates with Konsortium existing OMS and IT infrastructure. Konsortium has dedicated warehouses serving as consolidation hubs for vehicle parts and assemblies, to work closely with customer’s production teams and provide Just-In-Time (JIT) delivery in the highly complex and fast moving automotive production cycle.
