SIM University Logistics Project Presentation & Industry Talk

Boon Software Consulting has been invited as a industry guest, and guest speaker for SIM University Logistics Project Presentation & Industry Talk. This bi-annual Logistics Project Presentation deals with real issues and challenges encountered at the students’ work environment. These issues involve supply chain, inventory, warehousing, procurement, distribution and transport, and Information Technology applications across various industry sectors. There will be a showcase of projects, in the form of poster presentations, by final-semester students from the Logistics and Supply Chain Management programme at SIM University on 29 November 2014.

The presentation was followed by an industry talk segment and Boon Software Consulting will be presenting an Industry Talk entitled “Moving Towards Technological Singularity: Human Augmented Logistics – GOOGLE GLASS in the Warehouse Operations” where Mr. Dan Boon will share on the topic of Human Augmentation and applied Logistics Singularity.

SIM University offers a Bachelor of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management to develop human capital and talent to meet the needs of the industry. The programme is in collaboration with the Singapore Logistics Association (SLA), the curriculum is designed with a blend of theory and industry practice for the effective management of supply chains in increasingly challenging environments.

SIM University-SLA also launched a book titled Managing Logistics and Supply Chain Challenges: Singapore Insights and Perspectives, was launched at the Forum. Nearly two years in the making, this book comprises 23 chapters contributed by 38 industry practitioners and academics, and features a compilation of real-life case studies, providing readers with an in-depth understanding of the challenges in the logistics industry and the innovative solutions that have been developed. The book editors are Associate Professor Tan Yan Weng, Head of the BLSCM programme; Mr. Sim and Dr. Robert de Souza, Executive Director of The Logistics Institute – Asia Pacific at the National University of Singapore.
