When a 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar earlier this year, devastation swept across communities. Homes collapsed, hospitals overflowed, and families were left vulnerable.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) responded with its Operation Lionheart contingent — an 80-member team of elite rescuers, doctors, and paramedics. Equipped with life-detection devices, cutting and lifting tools, and mobile medical gear, they went straight to the hardest-hit zones.
According to CNA, the contingent searched 26 sites, rescued a life, treated 135 patients, and donated equipment to hospitals and the Myanmar Fire Service Department.
Among them was Mr. Dan Boon Jiahao, Director of Boon Software, serving as a Rescue Commander. His deployment began just hours after completing a data protection exam, reflecting a dual commitment to digital trust and humanitarian readiness.
“Operation Lionheart reminded me of how, in times of devastation and suffering, the greatest service we can give is hope. At Boon Software, we bring the same commitment to our work — building supply chains that not only deliver efficiency, but also help communities build back stronger.” – Dan Boon
The story didn’t end when the contingent returned home. Inspired by the mission, Boon Software staff came together to extend support through:

– Community Care – ensuring supply chains serve people, not just processes
Operation Lionheart stands as a reminder that leadership means caring for people in their most vulnerable moments and helping them build back stronger.
At Boon Software, that same spirit drives our innovation, partnerships, and CSR — proving that supply chains don’t just move goods; they move hope.
